Dumbledore...secret's out!

OK
I used to hate Michael Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore, after this last movie he be came slightly tolerable. I find it amazingly Ironic that the only time anyone thinks he did well in the scene is when he emulates the original actor, the late Richard Harris. He said that he doesn't read the books, he has the script, and that he is himself not the character. I have a Degree in Acting and I didn't know where he was going with that... As a character that is the same man in 7-8 movies you must hold a level of continuity that trancends despite the change of other elements of the production.

SO I realized the obvious problem with the 4th movie was...everything! From Screenplay on down. But I believe the only way to really get the understanding of how great the series is, is to read the books and imagine. It is difficult to seperate the images in your mind from the images on screen that you have seen and it is not necessary all the time, I would not go as far as to say that the movies were that far off, but there are sublties and inconsistancies in the script, that exclude things that really connect one with the characters.

OVERALL
I think the movies are entertaining and suspenseful, sometimes too dark for the theme of hope to be underlying throughout the sequals, but interesting adaptations of the books. Though they gross alot of money banking on the fans hoping to relive their experience reading, the way these movies have been Written, Produced, and Directed makes it unlikely for them to win any awards (despite a great ensemble cast, and best selling Book series to be based off) except for best music.

Great story, but poorly executed, just not LOTR caliber screenwriting, or directing.

WORD!
